How to switch Home Care Providers to Let’s Get Care.

If you want to change Home Care Providers it’s not as complicated as you think. With Let’s Get Care, it’s easy and seamless. Our team has plenty of experience helping Home Care Package holders make the switch to a new provider with better options. With us you’re in capable hands.

If you decide to make the move to Let’s Get Care from your current provider, you will need to notify both your existing Provider and My Aged Care. You and your previous Provider will decide on a cessation day which will help our team organise your start date with us. In your call with My Aged Care, you will need to ask them to reactivate your Referral Code. Once your Referral Code is ready, we will organise a time for a sign-up with us. That’s when we will get the necessary transfer and sign-up documents completed so we can commence your care services and ensure a seamless transition.

How easy is it to transfer or switch providers?

Transitioning to a new Provider doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful. In fact, at Let’s Get Care, we have streamlined the process to make it as straightforward and hassle-free as possible. We understand the importance of finding a home care provider that aligns with your unique needs, preferences, and lifestyle. Therefore, we’ve dedicated ourselves to making the entire process not just easy, but empowering.

We will give you more choice and control to choose who delivers your home care services through your Australian government-approved package.  Many Providers require you to select services delivered by their own staff and pay them directly for those services. With us you have access to both your existing services and new services and can choose who delivers them and when they visit.
We charge one low, fixed and transparent fee to support you. No hidden costs like exit fees or basic daily fees.

We support clients throughout their home care journey by carers in all locations. Regardless of where you live we will support you to receive the care you need. We work closely with our clients and their family to keep them living safely in their own homes. Whether you need a few hours of home care services or additional services around the clock each week, we will allow you to find a dedicated care team in the same area to you with ongoing administration to keep you safe at home.


It depends which Home Care Package Provider you are with and must be noted within your current home care agreement with your Home Care Package Provider.

If you aren’t sure about the notice period with your current Home Care Package Provider – you can call and ask them to tell you. As soon as you notify your Provider of your desire to leave your notice period commences.

At Let’s Get Care, we only need written notice of 28 days and will ensure your transition is as seamless as possible to your new provider.

It’s good to know that all the providers are not allowed to charge an exit fee any more according to the new regulation. However, it’s still necessary to check your agreement to see if any other conditions applied. 

Your current Home Care Package Provider has to transfer all your unspent funds to your new provider within 70 days after the cessation date.

You don’t need to stay with a Provider that you’re not happy with. In February 2017 Consumer Directed Care (CDC) legislation was amended which has empowered Home Care Package holders with the freedom and control to actively participate in their own care.

If you’re happy with the aged care service you’re getting, then that’s great, but if you want to change to a better solution then you also have the option to switch to a new provider.

When you decide to change Home Care Package Providers, check your Home Care Agreement with your previous provider for exit fee or special conditions. Your Agreement will indicate your notice period to leave the old Provider.

After you have noticed your old provider, you also need to call My Aged Care to reactivate your referral code. Then you need to give your referral code to your new provider to start your transfer.
