Care workers will arrive at your chosen times, assisting you in a way that ensures comfort, dignity, and respect, making a profound impact on your daily life. Speak to your Care Manager about your disability and other health conditions or needs, and we will help tailor your aged care to you. We’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions to help guide you through the home care package process. We know it can be confusing, but we hope this helps to explain some of the most commonly confusing topics.

The HCP program and the NDIS differ mainly in their target groups and the type of support they offer. HCP, funded by the Australian government, is intended for older Australians needing assistance to live independently at home. In contrast, NDIS provides broader support and NDIS funding is specifically for people with a disability of any age. It offers comprehensive NDIS support, including therapies and equipment, to help individuals participate actively in the community and achieve their personal goals. Both programs are backed by government funding but cater to different needs and life stages. Additionally, you must leave the NDIS if you start getting home care services permanently for the first time after you turn 65.

At Let’s Get Care we have the largest list of service providers in Australia which is growing every day. At Let’s Get Care we don’t lock you into using our own staff at inflated costs, instead we broker our services nationally. This means you have the freedom to choose and find support workers right for your situation, local to you.

Home Care Package holders must have a government Approved Home Care Package Provider to administer funds appropriately and to meet ongoing government compliance, on their behalf. This is a government requirement and cannot be done by the individual.

Each month you will receive something called a Monthly Activity Statement. Your Monthly Activity Statement lists the amount of your funds that were spent, and on what, each month. It also shows your income as well as your remaining balance of funds.

It’s a good idea to ask the Providers you are researching, for an example copy of their Monthly Activity Statement to ensure it’s easy to understand by you. We also at Let’s Get Care have an exclusive tool to help assist you with managing your funding. Call us to find out more today.
