Understand your Support at Home funding level

The Support at Home system includes eight funding levels to better match your needs — from basic support to high-level care.

How Support at Home funding works

Support at Home introduces a new funding structure designed to match care with individual needs better. Instead of fixed packages, there are 8 classification levels and 2 short-term care options (Restorative Care Pathway and Palliative Care)—determined through the Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT). Funding is aligned with assessed needs and re-evaluated as those needs change. Payments are made quarterly for greater flexibility and transparency, with capped pricing introduced across all services.

How your level is determined

Support at Home funding levels are determined through a formal assessment process conducted by My Aged Care. This process evaluates your physical ability, cognitive function, living environment, and social needs.

This assessment will give you a funding classification and a recommended service list tailored to your care requirements. Your level may be adjusted in the future if your circumstances change.
